Canada Life Enhances Critical Illness Care with Specialist Cancer Support
Canada Life has introduced Specialist Cancer Care for Group Critical Illness policyholders, partnering with Perci Health and updating its Personal Nurse Service for broader critical illness support.
Canada Life Launches Specialist Cancer Care for Group Critical Illness Policyholders
Canada Life has announced enhancements to its Critical Illness Care, introducing Specialist Cancer Care for employees and eligible loved ones making a claim on a Group Critical Illness policy following a cancer diagnosis.
Specialist Cancer Care: Key Features
- Dedicated Cancer Nurse Specialist: Claimants are allocated a dedicated Cancer Nurse Specialist, providing one-to-one support from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. Support is delivered via virtual or phone appointments, with secure digital messaging available.
- Access to Specialist Cancer Clinicians: For more complex needs, a team of oncology rehabilitation clinicians is available, coordinated by the Cancer Nurse Specialist. Up to three additional sessions are offered per individual.
- Seamless Digital Experience: The service is delivered through a secure, oncology-specific digital platform, allowing users to manage their care in one place and reducing the need to repeat their story at each stage.
Canada Life has partnered with Perci Health, a CQC-registered virtual cancer clinic and Macmillan Cancer Support partner, to deliver this service. Support is available for up to 12 months from the point it begins.
Updates to Personal Nurse Service
Canada Life has also updated its Personal Nurse Service for other critical conditions, partnering with Healix Health. This replaces the previous service provided by RedArc. The new service offers:
- Clinical, emotional, and practical support from a dedicated specialist nurse for up to 12 months
- Unlimited support via phone, video call, and email
- Access to a multi-disciplinary team of NMC-registered nurses with experience in areas such as Cardiology, Surgery, Haematology, and Neurology
Existing users of the RedArc service will continue to receive uninterrupted support.
Implementation and Eligibility
Employers and employees can find updated information on Canada Life’s claims page. The new services are available to employees, their spouses/partners, or immediate family caregivers making a claim under a Group Critical Illness policy. These services are non-contractual benefits and may be altered or withdrawn at any time.
